Well I sent in an editorial to the Times last night after reading that they receive 1200 submissions a week and publish around 14. So, I doubt it will get published, but it was a good first try and I enjoyed writing it. As it was a specific response to an article they published I may make my next one less specific to their paper so I can send it to several.
Well I am basically home-ec challenged since i opted for shop back in middle school, but I took a few quilting lessons from a friend when I was home for christmas, chose a pattern, got some material and have started piecing. I didn’t know this about quilting but you have to make the huge top piece with all the squares before you stitch the other parts together. So, my goal is to finish that part (its about 10×10 squares) by October when I go back to the states.
