“Qui veut faire quelque chose trouve un moyen; qui ne veut rien faire trouve une excuse.”
proverde Berbère
“who wants to to something find means; who wants to do nothing find excuses.”
berberian proverb
ok it’s done…
now i must oraly defend it…
see further for results and i will be done with urbanism
the question is what come next?
he called me twice last week.
once to explain me his week-end trip to Amsterdam.
once to ask me to do his ‘rock play list’ for the iPod he will get with his new car.
but he called me each time when i was at work and i couldn’t speak a lot…
normaly i’ll see him this evening.
doing better…
but i can’t stop thinking this is stupid
maybe i’m too personal in small-talk
I’ve done it, i’m doing it, i’will do it, and it won’t stop.
after telling a few poeple about the truth of the Monster, after drawing icons of him on my wall cupboard (one door of my wall cupboard is painted with a special matter like black board in school so i can write with chalks on it), i found that my own mom, after i told her, is also spreading the gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. it’s like a second generation of gospel spreading.
so i can honestly judge that my goal can be put in the “i’ve done this” section even if it would never be done and if it is an everyday work…
so keep on spreading it fellows.
it wasn’t exactly the bench in itself and not exaclty a protoype, it is a kind of model in real scale (1:1).
now the bench wich is integrated to a terrasse have been build by carpenters and is part of an architectural project…
“give you the means to do something”
it seem that the time to choose has came.
i got an offer and if i take it. it will be for the rest of my life or for a long part of it…
the offer consist of taking part in an architecture office and in the long term becoming head associate while other slowly retired…
it’s not an easy job because all responsibilities are on your schoulders and what seems to me at the moment the most difficult is that you must find project to maintain the office… and in here, i’m feeling like a stranger. i haven’t much friends and contacts in this town (it’s even difficult to take the advantage of the “new kid in town”).
going to talk with my sister this lunch time…
i found the owner. he’s driving a porsche 928. I talked to him while he was inflating his tire to move the car…
but he doesn’t want to sale it. he’s aboard at the moment and that’s why the car does not move.
anyway the car is still in front of my office while he just moved it 20 meters away
when i was at the University, red cross came on the campus about once evry three mounths, so that student could give blood, it was very easy and i used to go there. now that i moved to luxembourg, i havent gave blood yet but this will be soon… red cross isn’t so far from home.
we went there, two years after sept. 11th, 2001.
before going, we had just bought my sister a box of “fortune and mason’s” tea. you know, this beautifull metal box. while my sister like tea but most of all she collectes metal boxes (only metal boxes, of anything but metal boxes). and i bring her one from everywhere i go. so when we went to “fortune and mason”, we asked a gift packaging: we went downstairs of the shop and for almost 1/2 an hour a charming young lady pack our box in a wonderful paper, made some node etc. this package was marvellous.
after a while, we went gently to the london eye and start to queue… arriving in front of the security guard we put our stuff in the x-ray machine. and the guard, of cours, asked us what was in our bag. we didn’t directly realise why, and when we understood we tried to explaine that this metal box, he couldn’t see throw with x-ray, was just a box of tea for my sister. he wanted us to open the box but this would mean destroy this beautifull gift paper we waited for 1/2 an hour. so after long negociation (in my poor english), we could go to the info point and put the box in a locker. and come back without queueing again.
afterward, when we brought my sister back a metal box we always laugh a lot thinking of this story.
We get to france by car. my parents, my brother and i decided the morning of the d-day to go and see this. so we drove aproximatively 4 hours. they was no highway to go there. we stoped in the first town where the eclipse was total. the town was crowded. we bought sausage, cheese and bread to have a picnic in front of a church (which was on a proeminence). we even bought a knife to picnic while nothing was planed.
during the eclipse time seemed to stay still. strange feeling…
the total eclipse lasted less than 1 minute.
after that we get back home and i can tell you the traffic was heavy. even 300 km away from the point we were, there was traffic jam, people driving at the speed of a walking man.
but this was great time. unplaned things could be the best.
my feeling is shaded while the audience seemed to know better the songs than S&G (specially me, i rehearsed a lot before the concert LOL), at the bigining the audio balance was not so good and the everly brothers (guest stars) seemed to have more success with our friendly englishaudience. it was true that they had more presence than S&G.
what amazed me more was the quantity of beer drunk by englishmen and women, when i attempt a concert i usualy go there to listen to the music not to fall unconsious somewhere in a park.
But, hey, this was still a concert of S&G and in Hide Park. (my first in london)
this was a good experience
Last summer we should have been to see R.E.M. and queen in Hide Park too. but becouse of the attempt in the subway, concerts was canceled.

it’s been a long time this car is parked in front of the office (more then 6 months) without moving. now the tires are deflated and the car doesn’t get better…
i’m trying to find the owner, and dreaming to get him rid of the car for a symbolic 1-EUR (hope keeps alive).
what does it exactly mean i don’t know…
in fact i should know but i can explain.
i suppose it can be related with goals: “be true to myself”, “live my life for myself”, “have good karma”.
maybe be “a good person staying myself” could be closer to what i mean and in fact it’s more difficult than being simply a good person. it implys that i can’t do as much compromises. i must be good deep inside…
“how am i not myself”
“how am i not myself”
“how am i not myself”
“how am i not myself”
going to a cycle of 5 lectures in brussels about Jazz, presented by Marc Danval called “jazz stories”. untill now have been to all, next one will be the last.
1. de l’afrique au ragtime
2. la nouvelle orléans et louis amstrong
3. avant et pendant duke ellington
4. le be-bop et charlie parker
5. john coltrane et l’état actuel du jazz
this is more unformal talk with lot’s of anecdotes while marc danval has met the most famous jazzmen (he have even eaten by a friend with louis amstrong once amstrong was in brussels…)
if once you can read it i’d like to say:
“THANK YOU MISTER DANVAL!”
i’ve always been amased by the way my dad, saying a few word (sometime not a word), made people talk to him.
