new orleans is the most amazing place i’ve ever visited. the people there are so optimistic about life and so happy, after all they’ve been through. it’s an amazing town.
i went down with a bunch of volunteers from my college. we stayed at Operation Blessing which is a wonderful organization. If you want to go to New Orleans to volunteer, Operation Blessing (www.ob.org) is a fabulous organization to stay at. For just six dollars a day ($6) they will feed you, give you a place to sleep and shower and drive you to worksites.
Go to New Orleans right now. On a side note, Bourbon Street is the coolest place ever.
