get a 29 on my next ACT (read all 2 entries…)
almost... 13 months ago

I went up 1 point from the October test.

English 29
Math 28
Reading 29
Science 24

Again, math and science my weakpoint. Science being the worst one. I’m taking it again December 13. I’ll study for it, but I don’t really have the option for formal test prep.

Hard.... 13 months ago

This semester has flown by. It’s been a challenging semester. I promised myself that I would get a 4.0 semester average but it’s a bit harder than I expected. I’ve done some of the necessary steps in the college admissions process. I took the ACT and SAT and I was quite disappointed in my scores, and I just disappointed in general that I had a hard time handling everything. I’m up to a 28 and my SAT is a 1690, which wasn’t as high as I was hoping for.

I was on the verge of just giving up, but I knew that it was better to have a 14& chance of being admitted than a 0%. I’m taking the ACT again, and I can’t take the SAT because I have to take the Subject Tests. I still have my essays to do, but all I have left are my recommendations and my essays, in which I have all of them started. I’m counting down the days until the Regular Decision deadline, and from then on, I can at least rest and enjoy the rest of my senior year until I hear from them April 1.

not far off 19 months ago

After taking the ACT three times, I was able to start with a 23 and work my way up to a 27.

English 28
Math 26
Reading 29
Science 24

I really have to work on my math and science. Hopefully I can boost the reading and English too.

An awesome philosophy. I found it when I read Steve Job’s commencement address at Stanford in 2005.

I just got finished with my junior year of high school. My grades are good, thank God, but they are as follows. My school doesn’t offer many AP classes, so this is pretty much the most rigorous course set at my school.

2nd Block: H Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry – B; 91
3rd Block: H Psychology – A; 96
4th Block: H Spanish II – A; 95

2ND SEMESTER

1st Block: AP US History Spr – A; 101
2nd Block: H Pre-Calculus – B; 86
3rd Block: H Anatomy & Physiology – A; 93
4th Block: H English 11 – A; 94

SPORTS

Cross Country – Purple Heart Award
Tennis – Captain

CLUBS

Fellowship of Christian Athletes – Head Recruiter 2008, appointed Vice President 2008-2009
National Honor Society – elected as Reporter
Student Council – President

VOLUNTEER WORK
Relay for Life
Junior Volunteers

I still have to take the SAT and the SAT subject tests. I don’t know how I did on the AP exam until July. I took the ACT 3 times but I’ll take it again in September and October. My highest composite is a 27. Right now I’m just trying to make my application as strong as possible in several aspects.

Perhaps I’m shooting too high, but I’m always motivated by this quote.

‘Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.’
