My boyfriend and I decided to leave NYC a few months ago, and we’ve set our leaving date for 11/1/09! We bought a car, found someone to take over our lease, and are getting prepared for our big exit. Our plan is to live in a few places temporarily over the next 6-9 months, to figure out where our next home should be.
But this was not an easy decision! And I couldn’t find any resources specific to the “leaving New York” phenomenon. So a friend and I started an online community for people who have left, or are considering leaving, NYC. It’s been a really great way for me to process my thoughts during this experience.
