I studied german in university and I hope that I will keep it up by reading german lituratue. It was most rewarding to read ‘Faust’ and ‘Damien’ in lit class. I have met many germans overseas who really appriciate that I can speak german to them, especially when in non-german speaking contries.

I learned by listening to family members speak the language from time to time when I was a child (we lived in the US, so it wasn’t very often.) It helped a lot for me to read dutch comics. It is amazing how fast you pick up vocabulary this way.
