I started taking ASL classes the fall of my freshman year at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Although I am not Deaf myself, I fell in love with Deaf culture. I feel like I’ve gained a better understanding of Deaf people through studying ASL, and that means a lot to me as I’ve met some deaf and hard-of-hearing friends through the years. I’m not the best at ASL or anything… but it’s still really cool to know something.
