How I did it: I studied abroad through my university in summer 2007 and went back in summer 2008 on a fellowship to conduct independent research for my thesis.The two experiences were VERY different. How I did it: I took French for three years in college as part of my ciriculum. It is such a beautiful language, and I really committed myself to practicing.
