So I changed this goal to allow for walking in the rain, because, well, I suck at riding in the rain when I need to be somewhere all day and being wet will be uncomfortable. I hate the bus. Walking in the rain is all right because of umbrellas and the reduced likelihood of getting all gross and sweaty.

Answering crisis line for WAVAW seems to be all I have time for. But I’m doing it and it is reasonably good.

I shouldn’t really take this off the list, since they are moving at the end of the month, but our neighbours across the garden have become more like lot-mates than neighbours. We eat together often, and they are super awesome people. Who are moving. Shit.
We’ll befriend their replacements. I hope. either that or we’ll move to mt. pleasant.

I found a shortcut. I live in a neighbourhood where if you put anything in the alley it will shortly be collected by scavengers who’ll then sell it at their sidewalk garage sales. It’s cheating, but they do need the money from it more than I do.

When I said “cook for myself”, what I really meant was to cook on my own time and not at work. I don’t really see cooking at work as cooking anymore, more like assembling food.
Since now I am cooking for myself plus one, and occasionally the neighbours, it’s become significantly more rewarding and there are less leftovers. I hate leftovers, unless I need to pack a lunch the next day.

the rain is less frequent but the weather is warmer so when it does rain I have the choice between riding without gear and getting damp or riding with gear and, er, getting damp. I’m fine with going places and doing things while soggy, but I’m still taking the bus (and walking) to work when it’s raining.
Otherwise, I walk most places and ride my bike when I’m feeling lazy.

my across-the-garden neighbour is really nice. My block is full of really cool people. I’d like to make friends with the photographer two doors down. And the bike kids are everywhere. There’s also a boy who walks around town with a rat on his shoulder that I need to invite to tea.

i’m halfway there. I bike everywhere in the sun, and walk almost everywhere in the rain.
suburbs don’t count. we take the bus for field trips like those.

i have two wonderful cats. they don’t go any farther than the backyard though, so I think adding a third right now might be too many. next house.

well, i went. once.
i bought a six-month pass, so it’s likely i’ll go again.
my armpits hurt but i am not afraid of the intimidating muscle guys anymore. the gym i joined is frequented by elderly chinese people. it’s pretty great.
my husband joined too, and we have a goal of both losing enough weight so that we can take showers together in our tiny little shower stall. we’re both about five pounds too round at this point.

I start my 11 week crisis line training on tuesday. Actually, the first day is an orientation, they have to take my application and look at my references and check my criminal record first.
