How I did it: While camping, my girlfriends and I left the boys behind and secretly walked down the mountain to the river & waterfall. We stripped, got in and hurried out for it was shit cold. We couldn't stop laughing - all I saw was white ass.Needless to say the boys still don't know what our code <eating oreos> really meant (!) Read how I did it…
Sooo… I got my tattoo! It really wasn’t that bad…although telling my family and friends did not always go so well.
Anyhow, I made a booking for the following day at a tattoo and piercing shop that I’ve checked out in person and felt comfortable with.
Yes, it is VERY expensive….but it’s worth it. I got a star on the right side of my wrist. It isn’t really symbolic of anything, but it was more about the experience and rite of passage for me.
When the tattoo artist started, it felt like he was dragging a needle through my skin – yes, it hurts. But it’s good for the soul.
It been almost a week, and the top layer of skin is coming of. It’s funny how the body ‘heals’ itself. I can’t wait to take a bath and swim again…luckily it will be soon!
My advice would be: make SURE you want one and what you want. Don’t do a walk-in. Think about it and if you’re still adamant about doing it after a few months…THEN GO FOR IT!
