do the splits (read all 3 entries…)
almost there 3 months ago

wow, i’m really close right now. any day now and victory will be mine, at least for the right leg splits. my left and side split potentials are looking better also. soon, soon, soon!

get acupuncture (read all 4 entries…)
working? 3 months ago

i noticed a difference in my menstrual cycle and certain other symptoms have lightened up a bit. the acupuncturist wants to keep it at every two weeks through this next cycle and see how it goes before switching me to a maintenance schedule. i’m so glad i am doing this. it is so relaxing, and i feel like it really helps to coax my body into balance.

cure my scoliosis somehow
i know i can do it. 3 months ago

i’ve known people who have straightened out their scoliosis through years of chiropractic and miscellaneous physical therapy. i think it is completely within my reach.

the present plan:

1. stretch every day
i’ve been doing this and have really been getting at loosening up those back and hip muscles. it’s been interesting to note the tightness and the asymmetry. working on the muscular aspect is bound to be crucial.

2. strengthen my abs and back
i’m working on that six-pack and making progress. being able to hold my body up straight is key. glad that i am giving this attention.

3. see a chiropractor
i must find a good one. someone who believes in holistic therapy would be great. not into those who can’t think outside the realm of surgery.

4. get rolfed
i had it done before, but my back was so screwed up and my lifestyle was so stressful that it did little more than tone down the damage i was inflicting on my back. i’m taking much better care of myself now and i think another round of rolfing could really make a difference. if i had to choose, i would actually rather get rolfed than get chiropractic treatment actually.

for numbers 3 and 4 to happen, i need to make that appointment with a primary care physician so i can get referred and get treatment somewhat covered by insurance. life is crazy now with finals, but i hope i can jump this minor logistical hurtle sometime this coming week.
