I’ve had M.E. for round about 4 years now but over the last two I’ve seen a marked improvement in my physical and mental energy. This improvement is partly down to doing physical and mental exercise (walking, cycling, reading, etc.) but I now feel that I’ve hit a bit of a plateau and need to step it up a notch.
Motivation plays a big part in this ‘cos believe me when you’ve spent the better part of 4 years sittin’ on yer ass playing videogames and watching movies it’s kinda hard to pick yourself up get the cycling gear on and go outside.
So step one is gonna be more “fun” rides, in other words getting out on the bike just for the sake of being outside, feeling the legs turning and enjoying the fresh air.To not care how far or fast or long but just to feel happy and alive.

Both myself and my fiance have Cineworld passes which only cost us 11 quid each a month and for those who don’t know what these are; they allow you to go to any cineworld cinema as often as you like, and yet it’s been months since we last went. We have been really busy and I suffer from M.E. but the bottom line is that we’re just a little bit lazy! I think it’s so easy to get sucked into a routine of staying home to watch a movie or play some videogames rather than take the time to go out. So as of now it’s time to get up off my behind and go watch some movies.
I’ve been riding singlespeed off road for a little over a year now, and reckon it’s time to dial it up a bit and go fixed. I’ve had a quick shot on a fixie once before, when I was considerably younger, and it scared the bejesus out of me but I reckon that I’m now old enough and ugly enough to not know any better!
