I need to admit, I’ve fallen off the track a little bit.
My excuses are moving to a new place (relocating, even within the same city, is a major pain) and dating an awesome guy who is taking a lot of my time.
I have not gained anything – I actually finally have fallen slightly below 150 – had the scale pointing 149.6 the other day, which did make me feel good. I’ve been eating out a little more than before, but I’ve been pretty good about avoiding fat, desserts, and loads of bad carbs. My exercise schedule has been pretty random, mostly because it’s hard to wake up to exercise before work when you spend a couple of nights a week with someone very special.
This week will remain not so good, since I’m still running shopping errands for upcoming trip.. and the week after is the big trip back home, so that one will be out of shape week for sure.
But when I come back and weigh myself, the gym guy will give me a new exercise program, and I will start working again.
My goal is to get to 135, and my ideal muscular weight is 125. But I’ll be happy in 135. 15 more lb to go! I can do it!

And no major changes either. I continue to work out 4-5 times a week, and try to do something active over the weekends as well (this weekend it was just swimming 20 laps in the pool). I keep on bringing meals to work, stick to healthy stuff, but don’t count every calorie anymore – hence, probably, lack of visible progress over the last few weeks. The best result on the scale so far was 151 – so from the beginning of weights training 8 weeks ago I only lost about 7 lb – it’s not a very impressive result, I hoped for at least a firm 10 lb. I recognize I lost fat and gained muscle, since my clothes fit significantly improved, and those cute skirts that I bought about a month ago do fit absolutely fine now – no stretch. I also managed to fit into my ‘not-so-little-black dress” – it’s somewhere between size 10 and 12, but it’s sexy and very flattering.. Will go impress my new boyfriend with it tonight.
The new goal now will be first ‘mid-size blue dress’, followed by the ‘truly little black dress’ – size 8 from Jones New York Petite, which I bought over 5 years ago and never wore – it was just a bit tight when I got it, and I only gained since. I got a couple of lovely suits from the same sale that I never really wore either.
My goal remains to be 135 lb, which is about 10-15 lb heavier than my ideal weight. I can probably get to 125, but it will require to dedicate my life to weight loss, and I got better things to do. So for the next month I will continue with my current weightlifting program, and from September I will start something else – possibly martial arts. We’ll see.
Had a great long weekend – 4 day-long date with an awesome guy. Hence, eating out, some alcohol, a little bit of fast food (did not have an option of anything healthy at all twice..), and very limited exercise – 5 hrs of slow-paced kayaking on Monday, but virtually nada for the other 3 days – some walking, but that’s about it. Afraid to touch the scale. Will go work out like mad tonight. And yes, last week I did miss 2 workouts – time pressure was terrible though, I really could not have made those.
Excuses, excuses… I’ll be working on losing more weight – I did find out that my date is indeed 20 lb lighter than me, and it’s no good at all. The goal is to shrink to at least his size!!! I’m so falling for the guy!!
I will step on the scale on Sunday morning and take the pictures then.
