quit drinking
A revelation

Quitting drinking has been profoundly better than I thought it would be. I didn’t even drink that much, but it was enough of a habit that it was blocking my personal development. That became clear once I stopped. And I now feel the same way about having a drink as I did about smoking after I quit that. It seems very unappealing now.



make more geek friends
Geeks are fun

It really helped me with some feelings of isolation wrt my job and interests. I admit it – I’m a geek. So it helps to have some other geeks on my team. I met most of them through local user groups – Java and Linux.
