I realized the toughest part is just getting into the gym. I need to work on my will..
I have been doing weights at least 3 times since mid Dec – until Monday last week. Aaty, my friend & gym buddy went away on a business tour. I came up with a bunch of excuses – “busy at work”, “+vely tomorrow” and so on. I did manage to work out 2 days last week at home with Getting Fit on a Budget and some weights I have.
Finally made it back to the gym on Sun and have stuck with it yesterday and today.
Yesterday’s routine:
Legs – Leg Press, Leg extension, Leg curl
Triceps – Bench dips, Tricep pushdown, Overhead Dumbbell
Chest – Bench Press (wide grip), Peck Deck
15 minutes of ABS to finish off the session.
Today was Cardio with 40 minutes on the EFX – burnt 500 calories! Oblique and some exercises for strengthening my knee.

I have not formally joined a yoga class. I have been practicing it with Aaty. I realized I have probably done several sessions (40-80 minutes each) now that I look forward to them. I should find a way to make this part of my routine. I can see Aaty smiling..

Completed my first yoga session by myself with Linda Arkin’s dvd Yoga for Flexibility. A great recommendation from Aaty and loaned from her huge library collection.
I have been playing catch up during most of my previous sessions with Aaty & Venkat.
Linda’s demonstration of varying degrees of flexibility at each pose was a big help and the pace is meant for beginners. My flexibility in legs (splits), hips (forward bends) is bad and this should help them – as Linda says “1/8 of an inch is still an improvement”.
