take a boxing class

The gym I joined a few months back has a boxing class so I decided to change it up and go! I have always wanted to learn how to box since I was a kid. I figured this was just the universe telling me to go.

The class isn’t some gym bred, choreographed to cheap house music tae bo shit. This is the real deal. There is even a room at the gym designed just for it.

It was everything I thought it would be and more! I had a blast learning jabs, crosses and hooks. I had no idea how much the hips are used to add power and precision to strikes.

I’m a convert. I plan on making my Thursdays boxing day!

Make sure you wrap up your hands before. Lesson learned.

Same deal here as the others. When your mindfulness ‘bell’ rings you place yourself in the moment and focus on what you are thinking about.

Tricky, this one! When my mindfulness ‘bell’ comes on I often find myself thinking of how I am going to pay attention to the bell when it comes! I’m working on it.
