Went on a date with a guy me likes. And we’re gonna go on more of them!
Good job girl, good job.
Tomorrow is the last day of school!
Outside of one Friday, I managed to bring a lunch to school every single day. I don’t know how much money I saved, but I am estimating it is around $100.
woot!
I have 10 minutes to talk about the speech component of my choice.
I am choosing to discuss non-verbal communication. What are the ways we communicate without saying a word?
Plus I want to use some examples from a dance form I feel is the ultimate in non-verbal communication, Bharatha Natyam. Dancers from that particular tradition focus on developing hand motions (mudras), eye movements and facial expressions to tell an entire story without saying a word.
Speech #3 was an attempt to try to sway people for or against a particular topic.
Being the Wal-Mart hater I am, my speech topic was “Why you shouldn’t shop at Wal-Mart.” I gave an introduction about Wal-Mart’s history, gave three reasons why you shouldn’t shop at Wal-Mart (sexist, keeps people poor, costs taxpayers too much) and then a conclusion.
Got 100% woot!
I am getting close to giving up on this. Sometimes I am convinced men just really don’t like me.
I’m trying to stay positive!
Still going awesome. What can I say?
Great friends, great vibes, great times.
Even my mom has been making the attempt to get along with me. I’ve never gotten along with her in, well, never.
WOOT
For our second speech our instructor asked us to do a “how to” presentation. I wanted to do something interesting, so I decided to talk about fire eating and how it is done.
I couldn’t demonstrate live in class so I made some videos and stuck them on YouTube as a supplement. Check em out!

I walked by the Orange Julius yesterday inside Seattle Center and nearly bought an Raspberry Julius.
I don’t drink julius much but whenever I am near one I usually buy one. I love the icy, frosty, guilty goodness of the largest raspberry julius I can buy.
Then I thought, “Wait! Orange Julius is corporate fast food crap too!”
So then I went to the grocery store up the street and bought some real food.
I can never seem to accomplish the reverse crack when I want it.
I know it’s a matter of keeping inside my planes. I just have to get used to the awkwardness my arm and shoulders feel when attempting it.
I haven’t lost weight. Indeed I’ve gained five pounds.
However, I am way thinner! I have been lifting weights frequently in the past few months. I have been becoming more muscular and toned (and less soft-like, you know?).
Muscle weighs more but it takes up less space.
I asked some of my family members to buy me a car for a graduation gift. I know it’s asking a lot but I need it!
Tired of riding the bus. Tired of riding for an hour when I could have driven 30 minutes. Tired of riding the bus at night.
Now chanting my mantra 108 times a day comes easily. No frustration. No wanting to just stop and go do something else. Matter of fact I now chant 108 times twice a day. It has become a part of my daily ritual.
Chanting is helping me focus and bring my goals to fruition!
I went to fast food joint last night, but it was a local fast food joint, not one of those corporate ones.
Nothing like a Dick’s burger. Even then I don’t plan on eating that very much.
Outside of this Friday I have managed to pack a lunch every day so far.
I am thinking the best way to remember to pack a lunch is to buy a bunch of things and leave them in the fridge at school. That way I won’t be burdened by dragging around a bunch of extra things. My bookbag is heavy enough!
I was certified level 1 but I had to let it lapse because of money and time issues. However I want to get started on this again!
