I’d only seen a single specimen before; hadn’t realized they grew in great numbers so when in the Miami area last week I was very happy to be directed to an entire community full of them. This one was in a park in Coral Gables; many of the most impressive ones were on private property but this tree proved quite adequate.

finally started again, and will be rejoining USFA shortly. Thoroughly rusty, but it’ll come back… Definitely recommended.

And that took a surprising amount of doing – the state’s brand registry is handled by the “out of state resident services unit”, strangely enough. Just haven’t gotten around to getting the design perfected and sending in the papers and getting the thing made. Now actually doing the branding is a separate goal we’ll deal with later…
