“Ask and you shall receive” is applies even to paying off credit card debt. Credit card companies make a ton of money off the fees and interest on our debt. If your principal debt was huge to begin with the interest they can earn off of you is huge (like it was in my case) and could often be a large component of the debt. Here are two very simple things you can do to help pay off your credit card debt.
1. Ask for a lower interest rate.
2. Ask to have the your debt cut in half. I found this tip out in the New York Times (http://bit.ly/BIyLx).
