Well, initially I wanted to RUN a marathon, but the running Gods had other ideas. Now I am content to know that even if I WALK the whole thing, I will have done it.
I am running/walking the Walt Disney World Marathon for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with their Team In Training. It’s been a wonderful experience and for a great cause.
I am running this for Mario, Kevin, Althea, Doris, and little Gracie.
God bless you all.

How I did it: I scheduled the jump in February for my 50th birthday, but the weather was bad the first day and on my second attempt my mom ended up in ICU (not related to my idea of jumping - I hadn't told anyone that I was planning on doing it yet). So I had to wait until May 19 ... three months after my birthday. The weather channel was calling for rain all day, but the morning was gorgeous in Sebastian. I dropped the kids off at sc… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I trained with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training Program. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this experience was! They not only prepared me physically, but mentally and emotionally for the challenge. They were knowledgeable and supportive. From the starting line to the finish line, I never had a doubt that I would finish the marathon. Really! The thought never entered my mind!&… Read how I did it…
I am turning fifty in less than two months. I have always played with having a list of “things to do before I die”, but I never actually got around to “doing” anything. Life just seemed to “happen”.
In the past year, I met Mario. I didn’t have a chance to know him for long, but in such a short amount of time – he changed my life. Now I want to LIVE my life, not just EXIST. Thank you, Mario, for that gift.
I plan to skydive for my fiftieth birthday.
