This is hard. Social events often involve alcohol. It seems like the people I know don’t have many group hobbies or activities except for grilling, with beer. Or having people over and drinking. Or playing Rock Band and drinking. Why can’t adults just do things without drinking? I guess it provides an excuse to socialize. And the engineers, they prolly need the social lubrication.

When I’m stressed I drink because it feels nice, euphoric. Substitution: watch tv, go somewhere public, hobbies.

learn how to wear make up
everyone else is doing it... 1 month ago

I’m 25 and I’ve never worn make-up. My little sister has been wearing make-up since she was 16. I just never really got into it.

Now that I’ve been working for a while, I feel like it is an integral part of dressing “professionally.” I personally think I look fine without it, but I get that it’s nice for dressing up and most people expect it in certain situations.

I have a plan! 1 month ago

I have set a payment schedule so I can pay off the debts I incurred due to unexpected health expenses/squandering money by the end of the year. Unfortunately, it involved kind of curtailing a lot of personal purchases. Looks like I’ll just have to go to the library to get books, and spend a few weekends at home!

Now to stick to it! As soon as this is done I can think about putting some money away for emergencies. Three months salary? Six months? Something like that.
