Flickr is a fantastic source of inspiration! For those of you who have listed this as your goal, I highly encourage you to get an account there. I’ve learned a lot from my little point and shoot, and also benefited from photo editing programs such as GIMP (downloadable) and picnik.com. I recently got a Nikon D50, and I’m loving it! Now I’m checking out lenses…and really leaning towards a 50mm f1.4. Of course, I’m still improving every day, and I’ve got plenty to learn! But I’m putting this goal down as “accomplished”. ;-)

How I did it: Awkward and funny story. My dad had told me about the meteor shower coming up (I will have to check back which one...) and I looked up the best times to watch it, which happened to be between midnight and two in the morning. I was home for a holiday at the time...and my parents' home has one of those alarm systems that they set at night that goes off if you open the door. When the meteor shower came around, everyone else had gone to bed, … Read how I did it…
How I did it: Well, it wasn't in a field, it was on my driveway. But I could see the stars very well. I lay out on my driveway with my sister and friend, and we looked at the stars and picked out constellations. We shone a flashlight up into the sky, and you can see where the light of the flashlight ends. It makes you feel like you live in a giant bubble, like in The Truman Show, and that where the light ends is where the atmosphere ends and the rest o… Read how I did it…
How I did it: One of the traditions at Florida State University is to get thrown into the Wescott Fountain on your birthday. It used to be illegal, but the cops realized students would continue doing it. They made it legal, which in turn made it boring. So now it is again an illegal activity, but the cops usually turn up and say, "That's illegal, Happy Birthday." I got thrown in my freshman year and became a "true Nole". Read how I did it…

I went to see The Seafarer over Christmas. I had already seen it at the National Theater in London, and it had two of the same people who were in it then, both of whom are brilliant, Jim Norton, and Conleth Hill. It also had David Morse playing Sharky, and he was brilliant as well. I could see this play over and over again.
And of course it’s best to ride on the top level, and even better when you’re in Professor Duckworth’s class and going to a museum.
