I usually have two books by my bed most times: one graphic novel and one novel. I try to sneak in at least 15 minutes of reading right before sleep and it’s a great way to slowly ease into that sleepy state.

After years of denying Harry Potter, I started reading the series in 2005 and was instantly hooked.
I finished Deathly Hallows four days (although, some would say that’s too long :P) after it came out, and all the physically painful hours of non-stop reading were all worth it.
...14 to go.
Given an approximate rate of 4 donations per year, I should be done by 2011!
Also, I attended Edgefest in 2004, a yearly mashup of music set up by a local radio station (102.1 The Edge). It moved to an colossium-style arena from a fairground so it was less of a festival and more of a really long concert with different bands.
Saw:
Thursday
Something Corporate
The Salads
Billy Talent
Finger 11
Good Charlotte
North by Northeast 2007 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Granted, I only went on the last day and only saw five bands (Northern Whiskey Syndicate, spacekitti, secret braodcast, Saigon Hookers, You Say Party! We Say Die!), but it was still awesome.
I finally found a good online book tracking application: www.goodreads.com
It’s still lacking some things I want, but all-in-all it has the basics I was looking for. With it, I can track books I’ve read, rate and review them, as well as books I’m reading and want to read.
Grey’s is definitely one of the more addicting TV shows out there. Granted, a lot like a prime-time soap opera, it really does rope and seems a lot more genuine.
I was hooked after watching the first episode about 2 weeks ago upon recommendation from a friend. Now I’m almost through season 2 and can’t wait to be caught up with the on-air episodes.
Took 2 photography courses in high school and i gotta say, I learned way more than I ever would from the Internets. Instead of focusing on “how to take good photos,” the first course focused on “what makes a good photo,” with a large emphasis on practice and analysis of my work and those of others. The second course built on the first and encouraged experimentation, and i loved it. Never regretted a second of it.
woot.
I’m far from rocking, but slowly getting there.
For all those seeking inspiration, I recommend giving the following a shot:
Load up your mp3 player with AC/DC’s “For those about to rock,” Survivor’s “Eye of the tiger,” and Tenacious D’s “Rock your socks off.” Listen to the songs on repeat at maximum rock volume while reading “Gary Benchley, Rock star” (by Paul Ford) and pushing 100 rock squats a second.
i’ve been donating blood for the last 3.5 years now. I’ve even made a pledge as a “donor for life” with Canadian Blood Services to donate at least 4 times every year. So far, I’ve kept that commitment and hope to do so.
Why do I do it? Not, not for the free cookies and juice. It’s more to do with the fact that I’m healthy. I’m lucky enough to have totally rocking health, and it’s only right that I try to share it with or use it to help others.
The needles are a bit hard to get over for the first few times, but you get used to it. It also helps that my local donor clinic has a big screen with laz-y-boys.
So, if you can, give blood. It’s an awesome feeling.
If I could afford to, and had the time for it, I would have my skydiving certification by now…
