In 1999, on my birthday, I ate an entire box of Girl Scout cookies while sitting at my desk at work. At lunchtime, I joined a gym and I’ve been exercising ever since. What works for me is to go to the gym every weekday on my lunch break, and eat lunch afterwards at my desk. As long as I go, no matter how little I do, I consider it a victory. Little by little, I got in the best shape of my life, not through aerobics, but through strength training.
If you want to lose weight, you do have to eat less, but if you work out, the same amount of weight will look much better. I’m not in as good a shape as I used to be [40 creeps up on you!], but exercise helps my physical health as well as my emotional health. Do it for yourself, don’t hold yourself to anyone’s standards but your own, and KEEP AT IT. You will be amazed and happy at the reults, if you just keep at it. (pic is from 2002)
