The GED test is underestimated a lot. Employers think you’re too lazy because you didn’t bother finish High School, and others think your dumb and that a brain dead Monkey can pass this test. This test is a lot harder then what some might think especially if you have a hard time learning Math or knowing what exactly a double negative is and why we can’t use them. It bothers me when people think you can pass taking the test the first time and if you fail, you fail life which is what some people in my life make it out to seem like.
I waited three weeks for my scores and what I got was
Writing 400
Science 470
Social Studies 480
Reading 470
Math 430
with 410 being the passing score I pretty much just failed writing which could be a result of obsessing over re-learning the Math. So now I don’t know what’s going on and what I have to do, I’m taking a little break though and in September I’m going to try it out all over again.

I took the test today, but the goal isn’t officially complete until I get the results saying I passed which I’m skeptical on and it’s keeping my stomach in knots. My essay sucked and I guessed on a lot of answers I didn’t know.
But I do want to warn some people that haven’t taken it yet, the there was one question on my math test that looked like it was written backwards because the wording and the table it gave to figure out the question didn’t match up and I thought the book was defective I guess is the best word I can think of right now lol so when I asked the teacher guy person thing he said I was out of luck and that he couldn’t tell me but he did inform me that it is a reading test also and as soon as he said that it clicked in my head what exactly I had to do. But if there’s a question that looks like it’s backwards I advise you ahead of time that it is normal you just have to look at it a little differently. In this case I had to change one column of numbers on the table to percentages.

I’m almost done with my GED so I can go off to college. I’m taking advantage of the oppurtunity I have as a Native Descendant and being able to attend college with a Tuition Waiver though that’s just education I do have to pay for my books and room and board if I decide to stay in a dorm.
Anyway I’m not sure which college I want to be at, I know I have to be in the state of Maine in order to get the tuition waiver I think my first choice would be USM, then UMA then try for smaller colleges like The Community College of Southern Maine but incase I’m rejected for any college in southern maine I’ll apply to ones like UMO I want the ones closer to home be my last choices.

I didn’t take the test on the 3rd but I take it Friday and I’ve been trying to keep the knowledge fresh in my mind.
gedpractice.com <— helps alot it’s an online practice test that can help you figure out how to get the right answer if you got it wrong.

I did my Math Pretest today.
So my scores go as follow: (I might be off a little on them)
Science- 550
Social Studies- 510
Reading-540
Writing-480
Math- 480
I’m going to study in free time (not at the learning center) to bring the score up in Writing and Math on the actual test. I’m so excited I’m scheduled to take the test on July 3rd .

So I took a practice MAth Test today, I got 20 out of 28 correct which is a LOT better then the first time I took a practice test at the Learning Center. I don’t know the score I got on the first one but I know it’s wasn’t the same score I got on the one I took today because if that were the case I would’ve been able to take the GED back in January.
Anyway, I should only have to take a pretest the next time I go in and depending on how I score on a Pretest determines whether I’m ready or not for the GED.
I’m nervous about taking the actual test, I have a history of anxiety problems…I know I’ll do well I have confidence I’ll do well I’m just nervous that I’m this close.

I’ll probably be able to take the GED test on the 29th of this month or the 6th of June. I’m pretty much done with Algebra and all I have to do is take this practice pre test to refresh my memory with everything I’ve been learning the past several months. The take a Pre Test to see if I’m able to get through the actual test and then I can take the actual test =)

Not today. I don’t feel like going to the Learning Center today I’m making myself go tho I just don’t want to that’s all. >.>
I want this to be over with now I I’m not that far away I’m not.

Yes I’m still working on Math but I got a bit farther. I’m on measurements now and next time I go in I’ll probably be working on Triangles then Coordinates I believe and then Algebra. So I’m prety far along in math I don’t think it’ll be long until I have to take the pretest (pass it) and take the actual exam. New Goal? I want my GED before the first day of Summer, well the test to be done by the first day of summer because I can’t help it if the scoring process takes forever, I heard it does =/

Dance Dance...
There’s two things that I didn’t get from my Native Heritage, the skin color and rhythm. You’d figure even growing up on a Native Reservation that I would have some sort of rhythm because it’s not like you don’t learn to dance at all. .
I want to learn how to dance and to be able to feel the music and not look like a retard ALL at the same time…can I do it? Probably not but it’s worth a try ;)

Eww more math.
Okay so I’ve been working on math and I’ve come to the conclusion that it hates me. I don’t know how a subject can hate me, but it does. I failed horribly on this test that I did that wasn’t exactly a pre-test, it was more of a pre-pre-test, that sounds funny. ANYWAY! I failed on it end of story, k?
So yeah, I pretty much just got done being retaught fractions which wasn’t all that bad I always understood them but was never taught in the way that I understand them. I don’t think I have a learning disability when I say that, I just think in a different way I’d much rather think of “Okay 2+2=...You have two apples and you put two apples next to those two and what do you get? 4.” rather then straight to the point. I also think a lot of people are like this and that’s why most people hate math.
I’m on decimals now which was never that bad for me but it’s been so long that a mini refresher wouldn’t hurt. My biggest worry is Algebra yuck and word problems. I know there’s key words that hint towards how your are supposed to figure it out, but I’ve managed to like not pay attention so I struggle on those.
I’m hoping to get this done by June because if we’ve managed to save up the money and I have my GED I’m going on a cross country trip, but we won’t go unless we have the money AND the GED so I’ll hold up my end of the bargain just so that won’t keep us here in the stupid state of Maine all summer >.<

I suck at math
but I am learning quickly…I’m working on multiplying fractions right now, tomorrow I’m going in and hopefully getting that information stored into my brain. I want this to go by as fast as possible but also actually hold the information I learn. I’m zipping through the papers tho which is a plus. Maybe I’ll be done come April =o…one can hope .

I have all but one pretest done and that is math, but because I took a placement test I guess you would call it and figured out I needed to work on math I don’t have to take the pretest until I’m brought up to where I’m supposed to be in Math. Tomorrow I have an appointment with a teacher to work on it, I’m a little excited .

I took a math placement test and found out I’m at a seventh grade level in math but I took the actual science pretest and got a 550 . I’m so proud of myself.

No Excuses!
I caught the bus downtown then even walked in this cold weather to the Learning Center sat down and signed forms and everything then I began testing, I’m going back tomorrow to test some more and I’m going two days a week to do this. I need to work on math it’s never been my strong point but I can do it and most likely by the time I want to get it down. And get this I’m excited because I get to have a real Cap and Gown graduation . I can at least have the feeling like I graduated High School. Then maybe if I don’t miss the deadline to apply for the fall semester GO TO COLLEGE! >.< I’m psyched.

I always make an excuse as to why I haven’t gone to the Learning Center to take the test yet. Before I was 18 I had the greatest excuse and that was because my school refused to give me my transcripts to show the people at the learning center that I’ve been out of school for the 2 years. Don’t ask why that school would want to sabotage me in continuing my education.
But after I turned 18 I could just go down to the learning center and get it over with. I forgot my first excuse but the next one was because It was the holidays and bleh bleh bleh.
It’s a New Year and getting my GED is a definite resolution and I want it done and over with as quickly as possible. I don’t know if I can go to the High School down where my sister lives to take the test or if I have to go to the high school which I dropped out of for the purpose that it was pretty much to sole reason why I’m in therapy and coping with depression. If I can’t go to the Adult Ed program in the high school I plan on I’m probably going to temporarily move in with my Grandmother and go to that High School because I can’t use my sister’s address on the other High School or else she’ll loose her apartment. It’s a hassle but I really truly want it done.

I know how to make some stuff but I haven’t played Sims2 in so long that I’m going to mark this off as completed. It was worth learning all of what I have learned, but it’s only worth it if you intend on playing with the stuff you make on a regular basis.

This Summer

If Everything works out according to plan and we have enough money to do it, I’m going to visit all the Mainland states. The destination (well for me) primarily is California but we want to see everything we haven’t seen so far. I hope this works out.
