Ran my first marathon on Chicago. The crowds are great and the atmosphere is full of energy. Good first time marathon – very flat and excellent crowd support

Learning to speak German has been a great experience. Unlike many nationalities (in general), Germans appreciate your effort to speak their language and are usually pretty helpful and encouraging. The best way to learn: Go to Munich, sit in a Biergarten and talk to the people next to you!
I started going to Oktoberfest years ago – I loved it so much, I decided to start bringing small groups of other Americans along with me. It can be such a complex task to find reasonable accomodations and get reservations in the beer tents, so I’ve put together a package deal for people.
Oktoberfest is more than just a big drunken party if you take the time to explore its finer points a bit deeper. Go earlier in the day and enjoy the people you’re with. Feel free to sit with others – you’ll meet people from all over the world! It is a great experience that you’ll never forget!
