NY is overstated

There is no real reason as to why someone should stay in NYC once they have made the move. Housing here is too expensive, unless you want to rent for the rest of your life, do not bother moving here, b/c the only thing you can get for $200K is a 400 Sq ft studio! Ridiculous! And you have to deal with Co-op boards, and still pay $600 maintenance fees.. I have a great apartment in NYC, but it’s costing me $2K a month! I could be owning a home somewhere on the Virgin Islands for that kind of money.
The culture and opportunity here is tremendous, but if you don’t want to burn a whole through your pockets renting – NYC is NOT the place to be.
