Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

read 12 books in 2010

I started on this today.
I was at the library in my school today and was actually working on my online class but I came across a book on a shelf. Its called the goose girl by shannon hale. Yeah, but its a bit easy for my age but I like fantasy books so we’ll how this book is.

finish online school in the next few weeks (read all 2 entries…)

Im almost done with it :) only need another 30% then Im done!!!!

getting ahead in homework (read all 2 entries…)

This is another thing that Ive started to do recently and have been doing pretty well with this semester.

I always have left my homework to the last minute and this also is why I dont do well in my classes.

I need to start doing it and turning it in on time. And also, actually studying for my tests…

become less nervous

I am always so nervous and it just ruins everything. Because of it, I am not close to a lot of people. I may just have a few close friends and thats about it. I hate making small talk with people.

This also effects how I do in school. I’m aweful at public speaking. My hands get sweaty, I shake, my voice isnt stable and clear, and its just overall bad.

And my nervousness has caused me to do a lot of stupid things. Like act differently infront of my friends and family…I cant even have a straight forward conversation with my family members because I’m so nervous around them. Its bad.

So, I guess this is the thing that I’m going to be working on for a while, but I’m going to take small steps to get out of this.

For exapmle, in the next few months my teacher assigned us a presentation to do with a partner. So maybe I could speak more so I can get better with public speaking. And the drama team at my school is doing a miming skit and I’m the main character so maybe these things will help me. Especially if I put a lot of effort into each of these.

Well, wish me luck. And the next time I will update on this is Feb. 18 (a few days after our presentations start)
