i found this terrifying at first – i really found it hard to cope being underwater with such restriction on my breathing. and there seemed to be so much to remember as far as safety was concerned. but after only an hour of practice we were in the ocean the next day. was feeling so nervous and nauseous beforehand and didn’t think i could do it. but i toppled over the boat backwards (not half as bad as you’d think) and yeah. even then at first i kept coming back to the surface after going down a few inches, but my ‘buddy’ was great and made me try and stay under. as we got lower and started to see the fish, it was really really worth it. did start to get a bit cold but SUCH an amazing experience. really want to do it again, and i seriously recommend it to you!
