My sister (PO3 Jones) is an OS down in Corpus Christi – and she’s been a huge inspiration. I visited her recently and saw the hangar she works in, the ET shop…it made me really want to get out of the office and join up!

How I did it: I originally bought a car because I worked overnight in a city where driving was pretty much the only way to get around quickly - everything was spread out. I later moved to downtown Denver, and everything is within walking or biking distance. If it's too far to bike, I can take transit. If I need a car, I can use one of the carshares in town! How I did it: The public library is a great place to pick up this sci-fi master's books. Cory knows how to create just the right mix of technology with a certain level of humanity that really lets you connect to the stories. Highly recommend the graphic novelization of some short stories - 'Cory Doctorow's Futuristic Tales of the Here and Now.' Read how I did it…
How I did it: After months of searching for a cool city bike that didn't have lots of moving parts to probably break down when I need them most, I found the SE Draft at my local bike shop for $250. It's a nice bike, but kinda sucks on hills, and if you put too much torque on the rear wheel (which is bound to happen) you're likely to snap some spokes unless you've got a nice strong wheel. Java is a fantastic language…I just don’t think it’s something I want to do at the moment. Maybe later.
