Fit in 15 minutes today. Having a little trouble with some of the poses—chair pose and the one where you twist around towards your back while seated with legs crossed (don’t know what this one is called) I was thinking how easy this all was when I was younger and first starting out in yoga some 9 years ago. (Has it been that long!?) Today it made me feel old instead of feeling good.

One of my weaknesses (and strengths depending upon the situation) is my tendency to be too sensitive. This has gotten me into a bit of trouble with my friendships in the past. i will read too much into things often times where it wasn’t even about me at all but I made it so nonetheless. I am trying to gain perspective and view each “slight” from anothers perspective. Like a friend of mine hasn’t been calling much lately (she lives 500 miles away) and I was hurt that I hadn’t heard from her. I finally decided that in my hurt I wasn’t calling her either! So I called. She’s been busy at work and having a few rough spots there so it seems she was preoccupied with that. I am glad I called instead of viewing it as “all about me.”
fairly successful day today. i tried to stay on course with better snacks and i did 20 minutes of strength training and 15 min. of yoga, it was all i could do to fit that in but i did it and i felt pretty proud of myself ‘cuz the old me would’ve said, “ah screw it; i’m too busy today.”
