Electronics is the antecedent to computers (which is my profession) and between one and the other they seem to make the world run on time (at least mostly). I guess I’d like to be be able to understand and eventually manipulate some of the everyday technology around me.

How I did it: Got on line, signed up for a course and started going. As soon as I could I got a job in the same industry (IT) and completed my degree while working/studying part time. Read how I did it…
Not a hugely religious sort of fellow but I was looking though some of the travel books for our up coming holiday to western Europe and got the distinct impression that having a good understanding of the bible might greatly enhance my enjoyment and understanding of a lot of western culture over the last 20 centuries or so ;-)
I think I might try to find an audio book version to listen too (which I have tried in past). Other ideas I have include speeding up the audiobook (to listen faster at the same pitch) and picking a particular reading order for the various books.
I’m also very interested in finding some sort of reading analysis guide for the non-religous/securlar interpreter of the text, but I guess I’ll keep looking for that while I listen.
This is surely one of the most influential books in western thought and definitely worth a read.
The nanowrimo was a great example of how if you set yourself a goal and achieve it, that act can have a wonderful affect on your whole life outlook.
If I do the nanowrimo again this year, i think I’ll definately try to get my friends and family in on it as well.
