Lose 30 lbs by Christmas
Starting off at 180 3 years ago

I’m currently 180 lbs, and I want to get back down to 150 by Christmas. Yes, that means I gained back almost all of the weight I lost last year. A newborn and new job will do that to you!

I started exercising again today – 30 minutes on the treadmill. Here’s to starting!

read all of Malcom Gladwell's articles this year (read all 2 entries…)
Not enough time 3 years ago

There just isn’t enough time (or interest) anymore to worry about this. I’m moving on!

learn how to drive stick-shift
It makes driving fun again! 4 years ago

I think this goal is well worth doing! Using a manual transmission brings you closer to the vehicle and changes the whole driving experience.

My very first car was a 1988 Ford Escort GT that I bought back in 10th grade (1994). It had a manual transmission, and was driving it was pretty much how I learned to use a clutch, shift etc. That car is now long gone, and until last summer, my wife and I had two family sedans that were both automatics. Then, we decided to get rid of one of them and replaced it with a Mazda 3 5-door. It’s got a manual transmission and is so much fun to drive!
