Got the Lucky Shopping Manual so that I can get a plan and be purposeful about spending my money on clothes. When we move into the larger apt. on Dec. 1st I will be able to unpack my clothes (finally), review what I have, decide what I need, and make a plan over the next few months to get started on this.
Meanwhile, I got gift certificates for my birthday! So, I got an outfit from Talbots (brown wool pants w/ light pink pinstripes and a brown v-neck cashmere sweater:) and ordered an outfit from LLBean (brown twill pants, a camel courderoy fitted blazer, and an off white cashmere blend turtleneck:)

Well, I’ve put off getting my hair cut for almost 5 months because I don’t want to go through finding a new hairdresser who can cut my hair the way I like. I went to the first try today out of shame for the condition of my hairstyle. My hair is now trimmed, but the experience was not very good. She didn’t listen to me. She told me I couldn’t have my hair the way I like it because she didn’t think it should be that way. I just let her trim the ends, so it will stop being so flyaway and shrink it’s volume down. She, of course, couldn’t resist cutting more than I said & layering more than I said. She had the awful hairdresser attitude: it doesn’t matter how the hair is cut as long as you have curls (except of course the specific instructions that the customer gives her before she starts – these are completely impossible and would “ruin” the hair). It makes me understand why there are so many women walking around with terrible perms . . .

Our apartment place wants us to stay, so we talked to them about our space requirements. Yesterday, they reserved a three bedroom in the floor plan that we prefer for us to move into in December.

I got the call this morning at 8am. My top choice called with an offer . . . they gave me everything I wanted and raved about my interview. They asked me to start Mondy: I said yes. They asked if I could start sooner – I’m going in on Thursday. I am so syked!

9) Music – he really loves to listen to Jazz, Ska, Blues, The Black Keys, Hendrix, and really bad 80’s bands that I never listened to, and Chic . . . He loves to know about bands. He worked doing sound at festivals up and down the east coast when he was a teenager – he got to meet some of the greats as a kid & it has stayed with him as he’s followed the careers and the collaborators of those folks . . . He’s fun to talk to about music too – and play with!

This is a hard one today – not sure why. It’s a beautiful Sunday. Have no gottagottagottas. Pete made breakfast, uploaded a butload of music sent by a friend, and looking forward to reading and having my time. There is a gnawing little stress monkey at the back of my brain rattling around its cage. Need to hit the meditation committment.

working on my networking & trying to really appreciate folks that I’m staying in contact with. I want to get deeper into my relationships and allow people to know me better, tired of 10 years later having a discussion that’s about “why didn’t you tell me that was going on” or “I had no idea that was part of the mix”. I have less craziness in my life at this age, so it’s easier to be open about what is going on – just trying to break old habits. Also, have to remember that I can be closed off & a loner – can take some time for people to get used to me trying to be available & connected – plus I’m not good at it.

This afternoon I’m setting aside 1/2 hour – maybe I’ll fit in the yoga before hand too.

I got an e-mail back from a guy I haven’t seen since 9th grade (spring 1984). I found him on myspace & sent an “are you . . .” to him. He is! He’s been out in Nevada since 1988. Now he will want to know about folks back in MA and I will have good reason to look people up from where I went to 7-9th grade.
