How I did it: I'd been to New Orleans several times but never made it to Mardi Gras. Finally a friend and I decided practically at the last minute to go - a Friday afternoon. It made me
excited and scared 
How I did it: I've been creative my entire life and always wanted to be an artist of some medium (or several), but for some reason found calling myself an "artist" uncomfortable. Thought you had to be published or show in galleries or have a rep, etc. In my mid-twenties, I was concentrating on writing. It has been way way too long. My puppy, who is now a year old, has never been yet. Hurricane Ike didn’t help last summer, so this summer Yes!
Poor Galveston. Don’t know what to expect once I get there. Two of my favorite cities, Galveston and New Orleans, wiped out by hurricanes. Wonder if I’m a jinx.
