I once took a philosphy class in college where the class discussion was around famous philosphers and why they believe certain periods of your life they believe to be inherently the best (i.e. childhood, the golden years, etc.) The professor asked the class which of these was correct. I raised my hand said “whatever time you are living in is the best.”
It was the answer he was looking for, and the one I somehow lost site of over the years, but was recently reminded of on a trip to Spain just that for two weeks.

We all need heroes. Those rare individuals that have the unique power to touch and transform us in ways that are profoundly personal and deepingly meaningful.
For me that person is Adam Duritz. Simply put, I am inspired by his unmatched passion, moved by his honest emotion and in awe of his incredible talent and commitment to his art and genuine love of music.
It goes without saying that, probably like most people on this list, I have been to every show I could possibly attend (too many to count) can sing along to every word, probably know way too much about the meaning behind each song (thanks annabegins.com)and most likely have a few too many facebook updates using a Counting Crows song lyric. It’s what we do as fans, we all have something we are nuts about.
But what we don’t always get to do is say thank you. If I met Adam, I would simply just like to say thank you for creating something that means something in my life, with timeless music and memorable live concert experiences that I will forever cherish and will always be a piece of me. Thanks for making a positive impact on my life.
