do a vipassana meditation retreat
One Month Away! 6 months ago

I’m closer to my goal! I’ve been accepted for a ten day sitting in a little town just outside of Dallas, TX.

In the past, I’ve mostly sat on my own at home for twenty to thirty minute periods. To prepare, I’ve been ramping it up, first doing two half hour sittings a day until I just merged them into a one hour sitting around five or six in the evening, and boy was this difficult in the beginning. Now after about ten days, it’s a lot easier and I’ve learned to add an extra cushion. I use a meditation bench and this really helps posture and minimizes pain. So in a few days, I will increase my sittings to two hours, hoping to keep at this level until the actual retreat. Oh, and sometime later in the month, I’ll turn a Sunday into a full-day sitting.

I’ll keep everyone posted!
