drink less soda
No soda at home

I am fine with having a soda or two with dinner (cheaper than alcohol!) but I’ve just stopped buying it for the home. Coffee, tea, and water are staples, and I’ll even drink Gatorade once in awhile. Haven’t missed my Cherry Coke Zero as much as I thought.

Become a CPA
Uh, why?

Why did I want to do this in the first place?

Learn Ruby
Ruby is just fun.

If you’re a programmer, you probably think something about it is fun. No matter what you like about it, Ruby can bring it to you.

I can help, but I’m not the best resource. If you’re in the Richmond, VA area, though, let me know immediately.

grow my hair long
It looked like crap on me.

That’s pretty much all I have to say on that. Girls will like it, but I had a girlfriend at the time.

eat healthier
Weight Watchers is not so bad.

I was surprised that when my girlfriend got into it, it was fairly easy to do—for someone my size at least (250lbs +). It’s “Eat what you want, sort of” Mind your portion sizes and make a few smart choices, that’s it. If you can exercize to burn 200 calories a day more than you do now, and consume 200 fewer calories (neither is that hard), you’re there.

start a business
Getting this rolling.

I’m not rich enough to afford the lawyers yet, but I am learning about who can help most in the local communities.

write an application on Rails
Just a small one!

But I’m definitely getting the momentum. Dave Thomas’s Rails book is awesome, and I’m working on creating a real application to help with my “be wealthy” goal.

own a home
So far....

Haven’t moved in yet, but the process was very enlightening. It’s added another item to my list!
