The last book really wraps up and resolves all the things I thought I hated in the fifth book—the seemingly random stuff about inherent magic and control and hallucination and power, which I thought was poorly written and disappointing. The whole is so much more complex and interesting, all the stuff about family, and the hallucinatory style toward the end of the fifth book makes sense ESPECIALLY in context with the last book. I’m so happy I finally finished! Now I want to do it again!

One of the most fabulous things about the winter break was my present from my squishy: a trip to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway! It was silly and sexist as usual, no surprises there, but the COSTUMES! The SETS! COMPLETELY FABULOUS. The mermaids had skirts that looked like mermaid tails when they sat on a rock, as well as tails curving out from their butts up over their heads. They all had those sneakers with rollerskates built into the soles, so they could glide/swim along in the water. And there were fabulous electric-eel effects. Oh. So fabulous. So much fun with my squishy!
