How I did it: After researching organizations I respected, I made a point of creating relationships with them through volunteering. I have gained experience, connections, and respect, and consequentially, have been offered positions based on what I was willing to do for free. I am taking breaks in between studying to clean and organize, because I know that when things are in chaos, it is terribly difficult for me to concentrate on just one thing. I keep thinking of the dishes, and sweeping, and the donation pile.
Somehow, this essential aspect of my life has been pushed aside for not necessarily better activities. I am getting back on the wagon by participating in YogaAid this Saturday. 108 sun salutations it will be.
