How I did it: At 8:30pm I went around the house and shut off the lights, shut down my laptop, turned off the tv and most of the other things that consumed electricity. We lit some candles and I sat down with my son and played a board game for a while. Looking around the neighbourhood I saw that many of the neighbours had their lights off as things brighten up after 9:30 when earth hour was over. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I found interesting 43Ters with Vox blogs through this goal and by connecting with 43Ters who already had Vox blogs. Sometimes it was through messages sent directly, and other times it was based on what people had posted. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I installed the iScrobbler plugin with iTunes and started submitting all of songs that I listen to to last.fm. About every month or two I'll listen to recommendations and I'll usually find things that I buy. Read how I did it…

I didn’t initially intend to break the 100 film mark, but in the course of watching films as being part of the Canadian Jury, I watched very many and that started a momentum that continued as I sailed past 100 films last night.
It is such a great festival and there is a very friendly, casual vibe to the event that is wonderful.
This year I’ve seen 30 feature films and 71 shorts and I’m not sure if I will beat that mark for a while. A little bit overwhelming, but strangely addictive. The only downside is that I didn’t get to spend as much time with friends as I would have liked.
The only things left now are the awards ceremony in an hour followed by the closing film and closing party and then some sleep and I return to my regular, less film-saturated life for another year.
I’m deeply immersed in the 29th edition of the Atlantic Film Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This year I am honoured to be one of the members of the Canadian jury, so I’m watching all of the Canadian Feature dramas and shorts, which is about 25 feature films and a few more shorts, so I will easily exceed my goal before I finish my jury duty.
As I write this on Day 3 of the festival I’ve seen 19 feature films and later tonight I’ll see a couple more, so I will be almost at the halfway point for this goal.
I love the festival, the films and the socializing that accompanies it. This is my favourite time of the year. What could be better than watching and talking about films for a week and a half?
