Touch my soul, oh dearest Lord,
Ignite my heart on fire!
Remove from me distractions,
And every wrong desire.
I want to walk a closer walk,
And know You, King of Kings…
I want to rise up higher still,
And soar on eagles wings.

Touch my soul, I ask again,
Spirit, if You will…
Deliver me from all that’s dark,
And all that seeks to kill.
I want to walk a holy walk,
And know I’m clean and pure…
I want to be washed in the Blood,
And finally be secure.

Touch my soul, and leave Your mark,
For all the world to see…
Ease each trace of doubt, regarding
WHOM has claim to me.
I want to be one set apart,
And turn not left nor right…
I want to follow YOU, My Lord,
So touch me with Your light!

I lay my head against Your chest,
And drift into a holy rest…
Father, Father, One I trust-
Full of honor, always just;
If all the world should turn away,
Your love for me would never stray.
Should what’s familiar disappear,
Your grace would triumph over fear.
Father, Father, I’m Your child;
Protect me from this world, defiled.
Keep me in Your arms so strong;
To You, forever, I belong.

My problems are NOT my god(s), so why should they take center stage in my life?! Life stresses and challenges can unwittingly become as idols in my life if I’m not careful. I need to shift my focus back onto God (capital ‘G’), who is able to do all things!
