So at one point I was down as far as 219lb, but I for some reason just lost interest… it wasn’t just too hard or something, I did it for like half a year. I just stopped thinking about it and ate and ate and ate. I was as high as 252lb. What a waste of effort last year. All that ground I lost. If I had just stayed on it for another three months I could have below 200lb. It’s in the past now though. I’ve been sticking with the right eating plan every minute of every day for about two weeks now. I know it’s just the initial water/glycogen loss from starting a low-carb diet, but it sure is nice to see 12 pounds just vanish into what surely now is not-so-thin air. I’m 240 today and shooting for a loss rate of two pounds a week. I can finally hit that 200 lb goal in five months if I just continue to work at it as I’ve proven I can do. At least I started again at 252lb rather than 262 or 282 or…

How I did it: Electing a black president is a game changer. It'll force the remnants of an ugly part of a past generation to come to terms with the fact that the leader of the free world doesn't have to look or act like the ones before him. I think this election is was huge, not only for being a milestone for race relations, but for how it will shape future elections. The redneck party that caters to the interests of rich white people finally got&… Read how I did it…
I finally pressed it last weekend. I even did the pause at the bottom and used good form. It went up pretty easily. I warmed up before it with 155lb@10 reps, then 185lb 6 reps, then 215lb 4 reps, and then did the single 315lb, if anyone’s interested. I rested 1min, 2min, and 3min, respectively between sets. I saw this progression in an article from Flex magazine.
I’m down to 226.4lb. That’s about 35lb lost so far! I think I still have another 20 to lose so I’m hoping that I can keep from losing too much ground over the holidays. I’ve found that the body fat % numbers from the scale are unreliable since I’ve been taking them at different points throughout the day. I’ve been using a tape measure around the biggest part of my gut and tracking that since I started and it seems to be the best indicator of my progress. It doesn’t vary much day to day and there’s been a 6” difference since I started so far.
