How I did it: I applied for a grant through a local grant program for teachers. Although as I have found since there are lots of grants out there. You just have to take the time to search for them and apply. But it is totally worth doing if you really want to accomplish a goal and money is what is holding you back. I would totally completely 100% do this whole grant process again. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Fill out the form, get the picture, write the check and send it in. So simple. I just needed a kick in the pants to do it. I went online and typed renew passport and came up with tons of "pay us to do it for you places" Ignore them. Downlaod the form fill it out and send it in directly to the adress listed. So dumb to pay another place to do it for you. Some places where charging a lot of money. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I got a three sectiopn laundry hamper to divide up the paper, metals, plastics and I had to add a box for glass. Our county does not pick up recycling so we do have to make the effort to go drop it all off. My employer allows people to bring in their recyclables (accept glass) to add to the dumpster. So it made it easy to take a bag in and drop it off. They get paid for it so no problem there.I am even to the point where I take labels … Read how I did it…

Well, I got call for an interview for the grant. I was all excited and then could have cried when I left. The interview lasted about 15 minutes. Actually less than 15 minutes. Then they asked if I could send them information on a one week instead of two week trip…So I don’t have the best feeling about getting the grant. So I am keeping my fingers crossed. I should know by the end of this week whether or not I got the grant for either a two week trip or a one week trip. I really want the two week trip but would be happy with the one week trip too.
Wow. I am so excited. One major step closer to this goal. I have been called to interview for this grant. My interview is today and in a week or so I should know if I am going to Peru or not. Wish me luck! In one hour I will be walking through the doors to a panel interview of 12 or so people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
