My husband built a log home some years back. Not from a kit either, he cut the trees, skinned them, dried them and fitted them together with a chain saw. It turned out to be beautiful. Would he do it again? We are in our 50’s and so he says absolutely not. It is for the young and strong with lots of time. But it can be done and for a lot less money than a kit. Every now and then I see him eyeing a stand of pine trees. So you never know.
