How I did it: I alternated classes and work and finally decided to get through with the courses that I needed to finish and get my degree. I took as many classes as the requirements allowed me to take.I kept telling myself that I was closer to my goal with every paper I handed down. Now that I'm done, I can't quite believe it.I got invited to join the masters degree program and said yes. How I did it: I finished reading book #50 on Dec 15. and I'm going for at least 4 more before the year ends.I read an average of 4 books a monthMore than half where books that I wanted to readI chose most of them by mood, trying to read one at a time, if I didn't like it, I started another book (that didn't work for mandatory university books).Update, Dec 31st 2008: I read a total of 56 books this year! :) Read how I did it…

“I’m sure many of us have book which have sat on our tbr pile for years, another book always grabs your eye, or you have too many bookrings to read so they never creep to the top of your pile.
I’m out to rescue those unloved books.
There are two parts to this challenge, go and browse those shelves, all the books you know deep down you are never going to read, release, whether its through a RABCK, fulfilling a wishlist, releasing in the wild or in a charity shop it doesn’t matter, just give them a chance to get read elsewhere. Thats the first part of the challenge, and can be done whenever, even before January the 1st when the challenge officially starts.
The second part, is to challenge yourself to read a set number of those books, I’m recommending a fairly low manageable number probably between 3-6, then set them free.
Your books are then happy, and you have space on your shelves for new books.”
