Work is the single most depressing aspect of my life. My aim is to reap the benefits (salary, insurance, vacation) without allowing myself to be frustrated, angry and despairing. It might be much worse – unemployed!

it’s the first “rule” in feng shui – get rid of those things which have no use or purpose. I did it and the reward was immediate. My home was now mine to recreate, none of the old hand-me-downs, no more reminders of grief and what once was, no more stale attachment to leech me emotionally. By the way, most of my furniture was donated to a local agency which resettles refugees. My kitchen table, chairs, etc went to an 8-member family from Burma, who’d been living in a refugee camp for years before arriving in the U.S.
