I grew up in a Christian household, as many white Americans have. But the reality of the situation is that the Muslim faith seems more real to me. I don’t really know how to describe it and I feel very conflicted over what I have always been told is true and by what I actually believe is true. I honestly don’t think that people should believe whatever they were told was true growing up. You should search for the truth yourself. Pretty much I’m just struggling with the situation. I would love to talk to someone who may have gone through a similar sort of situation.

How I did it: after graduating college two of my friends and i packed up a subaru outback and took off. there wasn't any plan of where we were headed or how long we would be gone. we camped everywhere for two months and ended up seeing a hell of a lot of the u.s. and canada. the best trip i have ever been on in my life. Read how I did it…
When I was a kid there was no way that I would have thought this is what I would want to do with my life. I’m a full time junior high math teacher and I work weekends and some evenings at a bike/ski shop. I really can’t imagine anything that could be better than this. I love have unexpectedly life turns out!
So I’ve been in a reading rut over the last month or so but I have managed to finish a couple of books.
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller (I really didn’t like it all that much)
It’s All Downhill From Here by Andrew Schwab
Allen & Mike’s Really Cool Backpackin’ Book by Allen O’Bannon (Does it count if it has cartoon pictures?)
Searching For God Knows What by Donald Miller
Ink by Hal Duncan
