I just completed my first marathon-the San Diego Rock n’ Roll on June 1-and I had a great day. I highly recommend doing something this extreme if you’re even toying with the idea.
I couldn’t have done it without the training and support of the endurance training program and a fundraising arm (Team in Training) of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I celebrated my fifth year in remission from Hodgkins with this run and I am thrilled! I earned my “triple crown” of TNT events triathlons, century bike rides and now a marathon. I’ve raised more than $20,000 since 2004 for the Society and I’ve discovered that there isn’t anything I can’t do. What a high! If you’re thinking about doing it, do it! Check out TNT www.teamintraining.org if you want to reach your personal goals and help find cures for blood cancers, too. Win win.

I did it. I went to a jam and had a great time. I’m so glad I did it. It was a hoot. A gal in Brooklyn set up a jam through meetup. Brilliant!
The jam is twice a month. Unfortunately, I missed the one last week, but I’ll be back.

Giving It Up
This cleaning may take me a month to do. Why? Because I want to get it done. It’s not just about organizing; it’s really about giving stuff up. This is trickier than it sounds. It’s the same trick I need to perform to thin out My Paper Collection. Rather than tickle everything and decide not to throw it out because I think I’ll need it for something I’m never going to do, I’m actually going to throw out the email I’ve accumulated and sort out what remains. I’m giving myself a full month to get this done with the expectation that if I do a little bit every day for 31 days, I’ll add this “thing” to the “I’ve done this” pile.”
