I’ve always struggled with self-confidence due to some difficult experiences in the past, but I plan to change that very soon. This summer I will be selling educational books door to door. While it may seem like the craziest thing I’ve ever done, I am doing it for that very reason. I’ve never left my comfort zone and I’ve always suffered in the confidence department. My roommate recruited me for the job. While everyone is telling me that I can’t do it because I’m so shy, or I just don’t have that outgoing “salesperson personality”, I will show them that it has nothing to do with being outgoing. That I will learn how to become outgoing through the confidence I build, and that selling is a skill. I will also be proof that people don’t need a salesperson who fits all the stereotypes of one to buy from. People would rather buy from genuine, hard-working, believe-in-the-product kind of person. I will see this and learn how to gain confidence with each family I talk to this summer. When I return home at the end of the selling period I will be a new person in terms of growth of confidence and maturity.

I am ready to develop a closer relationship with God. I don’t want to continue going to church only to continue going about my own selfish routine. I will begin striving to learn more about Jesus and follow Him in everything I do. It will be the best decision I’ve ever made because then I will shine His light for others to see so that they may come to know Him too.
